Description
The new generation of filter media (“filter sand”) provides better water clarity and requires significantly less water for filter backwashing. Made of 100% pure glass (not recycled material). Glass beads are round in shape and have no sharp edges.

DEEP FILTRATION
Glass filter media, unlike filter sand, works on the principle of ‘depth filtration’ – black water is pumped through the filter media and the dirt is collected between the glass beads (in the case of sand filters, usually only the top surface actually works). The cleaned water can pass through the filter media all the way.
